Another Big Shot Rag Quilt Purse

 Hi Stampers!

Stop back this afternoon between 1:00pm and 2:00pm EST as I
will be drawing the winner for the fabric barrettes!

I got another rag quilt purse made, they are getting easier now that
I have made a few.  My new sewing machine is working nicely, I am
so glad I purchased it!   I love how easy my Big Shot and the
Scalloped Square die work to cut thru all the fabric layers and
make the cutting process easier for my purses.  If I had to cut
the squares by hand..... I am not sure I would be very happy
doing that.

I don't have a lot of chatter for you today, I did not sleep well
last night and so I feel a bit
on the tired side today.

I am however, working on
some really darn cute
projects and I hope to get
a few of them on for you
yet this week.

To the left is a little sneek peek of what I am working on for you.
I will have a video later today with the winners for the fabric flower
hair barrettes, so be sure to stop back by this afternoon OK?

Have a great day!

Felt Butterfly Happy Birthday

Greetings Stampers!

I had some time today, to work with my new felt butterflies that
I have been making in my Big Shot with the SU beautiful butterflies
die.  I do have some of these for sale in my Etsy store for those of
you that may want to play with these and not have a Big Shot or the
Beautiful Butterflies #114507 die.  Be sure you click on the picture
image to enlarge it to see the details.

WOW!  does the butterfly not make this card pop???  I love the
textures on this card, the embossing, pearls and the felt on the
butterfly all work so well together.

The base for today's card is Perfect Plum cut A2 size.  I used the
#117335 Perfect Polka Dot's embossing folder before adding
a strip of Old Olive cs that I punched with the Scallop border
die on both edges.

The roses were embossed on 140# cold press water color
paper using the #114517 Manhattan Roses embossing
folder.  Once embossed, I used my aqua painter and
put down a base of clear water and then added
summer sun and cameo coral ink while the paper
was still wet.  I let the paper dry and then added
some opal shimmer paint for the pretty gleam
on the rose that you see in the photo.

Finally, I added a pretty lilac butterfly with a mini
glue dot and then used the new #119122 Vintage
labels set from the SAB catalog for the sentiment.
I stamped that onto watercolor paper with perfect
plumb ink.

The final touch are lot's of tiny small white pearls...
I got "pearl happy" and just decided to put them
all over, I like the look however I would not
put this card in the USPS mail, this is definatly
a card to hand give the recipient.

*****GIVE AWAY*****
You have until midnight EST tonight to enter in the
drawing to win the pretty fabric flower hair barrettes.
Simply GO TO THIS POST and then leave a comment
for your chance to win.  I will draw a winning name
on Wednesday February 10!!!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Big Shot Flower and Butterfly

Happy Monday Stampers!

Today's post is a bit of a "hodge podge" of things I want to
share with you.  I have been working on so many projects
lately from stamping to sewing that my mind is in a total
creative overload!!

The first item to share with you today is my beautiful fleece flower
and butterfly that are pictured above, I just love them!  The flower
was inspired by Gretchen Baron and the butterfly I made on my own
with the help of my Big Shot and the exclusive Bigz Beautiful Butterflies
die #114507 by Stampin' Up!  The pretty Gardenia flower was made
using the Circles #2 die. (I love my Big Shot!)

The flower is made with fleece and the butterfly made with a sparklie
felt.  I must have made 50 butterflies this weekend, once I got started
on them, I simply could not stop!  I love how beautiful they look and
you can bet you will be seeing some cards with them soon!

Here are a few more pictures of the butterflies for you, I will be selling
these in pairs in my Etsy Store for only $6.00 if anyone is interested.
They can be made into hair accessories, used to decorate your cards or to
wear on your lapel. (Love it!)
Soooooo, the other big news at least for me is....... I got a new
sewing machine!  Yep!  I went on my little shopping trip on Friday...my
gosh you guys...I left my house at 10:00am and did not get home until
7:30pm with my tail dragging!  My hubby was laughing at me because
I told him when I left that morning that I had no clue as to when I
would be home.....and boy oh, boy I am glad I told him that!  He
gave me an early Valentine's Day present and generously gave me
some cash for shopping, then on Saturday.....the poor guy forked
over the cash for my new Huskavarna Viking sewing machine!
Can you say......HAPPY???
It's not got all the bell's
and whistles on it but
it is easy for me to use
and has the features
that I was wanting.
Compared to my
little $70.00
Brother sewing
machine....this baby
is a Cadillac to me!  Now.... I can get more of the
Big Shot rag quilt purses done and maybe even have
a few of them to sell and share with all of you! :)

The GIVEAWAY for the fabric flower barrettes that I
posted HERE has been extended thru Wednesday
midnight EST.  I thought that only fair as I now realize
realize some of my blog follower's may not have seen that
post over the weekend.  If you want to be entered into
the drawing to win the barrettes, simple go to THIS POST
and leave me a comment.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Brick Wall Technique Card

Happy Ground Hog's Day!

Will Phil see his shadow???  Here are a few fun Ground Hog facts as
taken from the Groundhog.org website.

Punxsutawney Phil is the only true weather forecasting groundhog,
the others are just impostors.

Phil's prediction is correct 100% of the time.

How many "Phils" have there been over the years? There has only
been one Punxsutawney Phil. He has been making predictions for over
120 years!

Punxsutawney Phil gets his longevity from drinking the "elixir of life,"
a secret recipe. Phil takes one sip every summer at the Groundhog Picnic
and it magically gives him seven more years of life.

On February 2, Phil comes out of his burrow on Gobbler's Knob in front
of thousands of followers from all over the world to predict the weather
for the rest of winter.

According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be
six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there
will be an early spring.

Phil's forecasts are not made in advance by the Inner Circle. After
Phil emerges  from his burrow on February 2, he speaks to the Groundhog
Club president in "Groundhogese"(a language only understood by the
current president  of the Inner Circle). His proclamation is then translated
for the world.

The celebration of Groundhog Day began with Pennsylvania's earliest
settlers.  They brought with them the legend of Candlemas Day, which
states, "For  as the  sun shines on Candlemas Day, so far will the snow
swirl in May..."

Punxsutawney held its first Groundhog Day in the 1800s. The first
official trek  to Gobbler's Knob was made on February 2, 1887.

So the story goes, Punxsutawney Phil was named after King Phillip.
Prior to being called Phil, he was called Br'er Groundhog.

So there you have it....just thought you would want to know those
important facts today!

My card share with you today uses the Brick Wall technique that I
found over at Splitcoast HERE.  I have one word to say on this
particular technique.....TEDIOUS!  Don't get me wrong.... it was
fun and all.... but a bit to much fiddling around for my taste.
OK, so I have been there and did it....will I do it again??
probably not, but maybe.

The base of my card is basic black with a shot of very vanilla.
I was actually trying to make a Toile style of card and ended
up with this.  This was made for my SIL who has a birthday
today!  I am not going to get into the details of the technique
as the link to SCS above does a good enough job on that.

I will talk about the stamp set as I think it is a very pretty
set.  The set is called #118568 (clear) Garden from the Heart.
This is a set of 5, I used the clear mount version.  My design
was stamped with StazOn black ink & versamark then embossed
with clear embossing powder.  The only coloring I did was on
the hat ribbon and I water colored that with melon mambo ink.

My sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, I used the
word window, modern label and the new small heart
punch in the mini catalog.

You can purchase the new Garden from the Heart set in my
online store HERE, it really is a set worth having in your
collection!

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Free Print -n-Punch Valentine's DayTags

Greetings Stampers!

Ah....another Monday.   It was a quiet weekend around my house, we got
a chance to relax and just "hang out" and it was really nice!

I have a freebie for you all today.  As I had promised earlier last week,
I wanted to give you all something for following along with my blog, and
the fact that I have over 50 followers now and over 70,000 visits.
I am appreciative of all the visitors that take the time to visit me
each and every day....it  makes all my efforts worth it.
So, for my Valentine
Treat Boxes pictured above,
I made a PDF sheet of
PRINT & PUNCH tags
that you can use for
decoration on your packages
and cards. You can get the
free PDF Download HERE.

All you have to do is open
the PDF and print on your
own printer, the beauty is that these tags will punch out with the
1-1/4" circle punch!
and are ready for your project just like that!
Tip: For a professional look, print these tags out on glossy photo
paper or whisper white card stock.

Now...the only thing I ask in return from you is that if you download
my tags is please DO NOT share them in any groups or emails, do
not sell or claim them as your own. if you have a friend that wants them,
just send them here to my blog to down them for free. AND.....if you
like my tags and are interested in seeing more, please LEAVE ME A
COMMENT so I know you liked them!

The tags are Stampin' Up! friendly as I used the wonderful MDS
(My Digital Studio) to create them.  Images are copyright
of Stampin' Up!.

Thanks for stopping and have a great day!

Simple SAB Thank You Cards

Sunday Greetings Stampers!

Rise and shine!!! it's daylight in the swamps!  he..he.. that is what my
dad used to say when he got us up in the morning for school!

No pomp and circumstance this fine Sunday morning..... just a few simple
thank you cards that some of you will find very familiar as you have received
ones that look just like these in your orders from me!

These are my Thank You's that are going out to anyone that places a
Stampin' Up! or vinyl order with me.  I will be changing the design
for my new Thank You's for February very soon!

These are just 3 x 3 cards on whisper white cs.  I punched  a peek-a-boo
hole with the 1-3/8" circle punch, then punched some of the scallop
frames from scraps to add for decoration.

The stamp set used is #119125 (clear) Happy Moments and is a free
SAB set that you can get for FREE by placing a $50 order (before tax
& shipping).   You can view the SAB catalog HERE and place an online
order HERE 24/7.

The image and sentiment on my card are stamped with Stazon black ink.
Then, I used my aqua painter and some classic ink in Melon Mambo, So
Saffron and Perfect Plum to watercolor the image.  Oh, don't forget about
the leaves and stems, those are colored with Old Olive ink.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day!
